This composition is a metaphor with many meanings materializing in the space of the courtyard.

A winding concrete path is the path of heroes to freedom who have undergone inhuman trials.

A "pit" with wild grass symbolizes the abyss, chaos and at the same time the desire for life. It is covered with earth, which gives the pit a different look depending on the time of year. In summer it is stormy wild vegetation, in autumn - fallen leaves and dried grass, in winter it is covered with snow and in spring sprouts begin to peep through the loose earth. Such a change symbolizes life, its variability and development.
A place where you can sit down and contemplating a stone, plunge into a stream of thoughts, think. Around the "pit" is a wall of corten steel, on which are engraved the names of 300 people - prisoners of Sobibor, who rebelled and fled from there in 1943.

A stone is the main object, a symbol of the eternal. Eternal memory of those who fought for life. The stone is located on the platform protruding above the "pit", as if freezing over the abyss.

The dynamics of the lines enhances the emotional impact, conveying the severity and tension of that time.
